Why This Site Exists
Printed local directories are only one part of an Ellis County search trail. The County Clerk, Ellis Central Appraisal District, voter registrar, court clerks, DSHS, Sims Library, and Texas State Library and Archives Commission each maintain records with their own dates and access rules. A person researching a family, a property, or a dated public record should not have to guess which office owns the source. The reference points to those local and state routes while keeping the limits of each record clear.
What You Will Find Here
- Search paths by purpose: the street directory, city directory, and resident lookup each use a different record trail.
- Local custodians: County Clerk, ECAD, GIS, the voter registrar, court clerks, and Sims Library.
- Historical methods: directory comparison, tax and deed research, maps, microfilm, and archive finding aids.
- Access boundaries: Texas Public Information Act routes, confidentiality limits, request procedures, and the need to verify with the holder.
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately operated reference. It has no connection to an Ellis County office, Texas agency, court, library, or records custodian. Important limits include:
- We cannot confirm that a particular person currently lives in Ellis County
- We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
- We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
- We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
- We cannot guarantee that every portal, office detail, or coverage range remains current
Only the custodian office can confirm, certify, or correct a record. Nothing found through this site may be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
